Size chart

How do you know which size kids' bike you need? The kids' bike size chart lets you work it out quickly and easily! Look mainly at height and clothing size, as children of the same age can differ in size. The smallest bikes, up to and including 16 inch, all come with stabilisers, so your child can learn to ride safely. Once your child has got the hang of it, the stabilisers are easy to remove. When children ride without stabilisers, it is important that they can put both feet firmly on the ground while sitting on the saddle. That way they can quickly regain their balance if they have to stop suddenly. Keep this in mind when buying a kids' bike; it prevents nasty accidents.

Kids' bike sizes

Women's bike sizes, men's bike sizes

After the 26-inch kids' bike come the 28-inch women's and men's bikes. The frame height determines which rider height the bike suits. For 28-inch women's and men's bikes, the frame height in centimetres is shown for every model in the shop.

What does the frame size tell you? The frame size refers to the frame height of your bike: the distance from the bottom bracket to the point where the seat post comes out of the frame, expressed in centimetres.

Want to calculate your frame size yourself? You will need a tape measure and a calculator. Use this simple sum to find the right frame size: measure your inside leg without shoes. Stand with your feet about 15 cm apart and measure the distance from the floor to your crotch. Multiply this length in centimetres by 0.68 and you have the matching frame size.

If you are between two frame sizes, always choose the smaller one. You can compensate for a smaller size with the height and position of the saddle and handlebars, while a bike that is slightly too big can cause neck and shoulder complaints. Does your bike have a suspension seat post? Then subtract 4 cm from your frame size. The table below gives a general indication of which frame size suits which height. In most cases this gives a reliable picture of the right frame size.
